A few years ago, I tried to deliver an English lecture on intellectual property law and practice at a university. In the case of intellectual property, law and practice have become almost global standards, so I thought it would be meaningful to introduce relevant laws in English and discuss precedents and practices interactively.
First, the lecture introduced the general intellectual property field, followed by an overview of patent law, copyright law, design protection law, trademark law, unfair competition prevention law, and pending topics in the field of intellectual property. In this process, experts in each field were recommended, and they were invited to discuss together within the necessary range for each topic. Unfortunately, the method of inviting foreign experts to participate in lectures online was not possible due to various difficulties.

First, before the first lecture, lecture materials were uploaded so that students could obtain basic information, and during class time, only an outline was briefly explained. It was regrettable that the lecture did not proceed smoothly because the students were not familiar with such methods and procedures. The social environment unfamiliar with the discussion culture also seems to pose a problem because we have not been used to it .
However, in the process of discussing them head-to-head, it seems to have been somewhat helpful in understanding the concepts of related laws and the like. In addition, if the needs dictate, it was conducted by visiting the site during class and looking at it together. Fortunately, this method seems to have a positive side that is interesting to the students as well.
The unfortunate thing is that I decided to conduct a incorporation process of both offline and online lectures, but at the beginning stage, the understanding and cooperation in school administration were not well understood and the three-dimensional lecture did not work as much as I hope to do so. I wished that an external expert could participate on an online basis using skyper during offline classes, and furthermore, I wished that lectures would be more convergent, in a way of taking part in online lectures or participation by third parties, who are ip-related experts.
Andhow in the case of a specific topic, I have tried to invite other experts to listen to lectures and discuss together. For example, the issue of payment of tuition was a formidable obstacle. It was intended to pay a certain amount of tuition to external experts who participated in the lecture, but it was because of administrative difficulties. The lecturing fees were stipulated to be paid only to the myself who is designated lecturer. As a lecturer who wants to give a more three-dimensional lecture, it was a little embarrassing to me.
Since this lecture is a lecture with a legal concept added, it may have been difficult to teach and understand it in English, but in light of the globalization of the intellectual property field, I think it is an inevitable and rather absolutely necessary lecture method we may proceed further. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the students who took the course by expressing their sympathy.
In the field of education, especially lectures are facing a global challenge in a global era in which it is difficult to survive unless the lecture is top quality on a global basis. In that respect, English lectures may be an essential prerequisite. Currently, as far as relevant materials are concerned, too much information will be available online. In order to cultivate the ability to collect, analyze, and process these, English lectures and three-dimensional lectures fused with both offline and online will be a basic requirements. Further, I believe English lecture will be one of various shortcuts in terms of enhancing internationala competitiveness in the field of intellectual property in the global and digital era.
