According to a survey of a few years ago  on the use of pesticides at 507 golf courses in Korea, there were no places that used blind or highly toxic pesticides, and the use of pesticides decreased by 2.5% compared to last year.

It is nice to know that a golf course in Jeju Island is managing the golf course in an eco-friendly way, such as biological pesticides, without the use of chemical pesticides.

Golf, which is based on nature, is essentially a nature-friendly sport. However, it is regrettable that there seems to be some prejudice and misunderstanding regarding this.

A few years ago, there has been a controversy regarding the expansion of a golf driving range  or conversion to a par 3 course in the urban natural park zoning area.

The issue was whether the the installing a golf driving range in the urban natural park zoning area will be permitted under the Urban Park Act. There was a strong opposition from environmental groups because there was a concern about water pollution in a nearby reservoir due to the use of pesticides for field management. In this case,

I think that concerns may be alleviated through fundamental preventive measures such as standards for the safe use of pesticides and the corresponding environment-friendly operation and management.

In the United States and other countries, golf courses in townhouses may be seen from time to time. The golf course built in the neighborhood is positioned as a living space for healthy community activities, exercise, and rest.

If a regular golf course in Korea may not be allowed, I think it's worth considering a par 3 course in a park or its equvalent neighborhooding to the city that families can enjoy together.
